A WOMAN stopped for a random breath test has become the latest locally to be fined $1000 with breaching the state's strict public health orders.

The 34-year-old woman was slapped with the hefty fine after she was intercepted by police on the roads in the early hours of Wednesday in Moree.
New England police were patrolling the town and stopped the car on Adelaide Street at about 1.30am for an RBT.
Police said the woman was unable to provide a reasonable excuse for leaving her home in Coonamble and was issued with the penalty infringement notice.

The couple were slapped with the $1000 fines on March 28 after they were warned not to leave a Hillvue home. Police were tipped off after the couple went to Boggabri and officers went knocking.
NSW Police confirmed 13 infringements were issued on Wednesday for breaching the state's public health orders which only allows people to leave their home for essential goods or services.
On Thursday, the NSW Police Commissioner announced he was personally reviewing every fine that was issued, and that the lockdown laws enforcing social distancing, self-isolation measures and non-essential travel would last for 90 days.
