Liverpool Plains Shire Council (LPSC) has released its statement regarding COVID-19, saying it is "committed to supporting NSW Health".

The council said that the health and safety of its community and employees are its highest priorities.
The council's senior management team is meeting regularly to review business operations and the ongoing servicing of the LPS community. Action responses are based on advice provided by NSW Health.
After considering this advice, the council has suspended a number of activities.
- All Home Support Service non-essential activities have been postponed and a risk management protocol implemented for Meal on Wheels services.
- All non-essential activities at libraries have also been postponed.
- The Young at Heart program at Plains Fitness has been suspended. NSW Health advice is that gym classes are currently okay, and appropriate hygiene arrangements have been instituted.

The council will regularly review its position and respond to evolving circumstances.
The council is reiterating the importance of social distancing, hand washing and good hygiene practices to staff. Everyone in the community is encouraged to maintain personal hygiene and make responsible choices for their benefit plus their families and our community.
The council is promoting the NSW Health site and the Facebook page 'NSW Health' as the primary source for information and health updates. It is also sharing NSW Health advisories on its Facebook page. Everybody is encouraged to stay informed.
The council's objective is to maintain current level of services to residents and businesses during this period based on advice from the state and federal health authorities regarding safety protocols.
Ensuring we can continue to deliver services safely is a priority and the situation is continually being monitored by staff.
