A night after starring for the Perth Wildcats as they warmed-up for the finals with a 15-point win over the Adelaide 36ers, the Tamworth native was at the NBL Gala Dinner named in the All-NBL First Team for the second year in-a-row.
Selected via a voting system, with the head coach, an assistant coach and captain of each team selecting their best three 'outside' and two 'inside' players for each team after every game, Kay was named as one of the two 'inside' players after polling 30 votes over the season.

He is joined in the First Team by Perth Wildcats team-mate, and the league's Most Valuable Player, Bryce Cotton, Scott Machado (Cairns Taipans), Lamar Patterson (Brisbane Bullets) and Jae'Sean Tate (Sydney Kings).
It is reward for an outstanding season, with Kay averaging 15.0 points at 52.9 per cent from the floor and 45.6 per cent from deep. He also led the Wildcats, and was seventh for the league, for rebounds with an average of 7.6 per game, and dished out 3.1 assists.
