The search for a new Queen of Country Music has begun after the nine entrants received their sashes on Friday morning.
Friends, family and festival-goers gathered at Fanzone to welcome the Queen of Country Music Quest entrants.
The quest aims to find two young women to act as ambassadors for the Tamworth Region and the Tamworth Country Music Festival with their roles involving many official and some informal duties at the Tamworth Country Music Festival.
The entrants must have a genuine interest in, and good knowledge of, the Tamworth region and the Tamworth Country Music Festival.
Quest entrants will be judged on their general knowledge of the Tamworth region, the Tamworth Country Music Festival and current affairs as well as their presentation and appearance, personality, participation in festival activities and events, public interaction and communication skills.

The reason I entered was in honour of my late grandmother who was crowned cotton queen in her day at Wee Waa. I also wanted to see our beautiful city during the festival from a different level while sharing the experience with other like-minded, empowering women, which will help with my future endeavours of the travel and tourism industry.
My favourite part of the festival is seeing our city come alive and what great country music talent there is and how lucky we are to have such an amazing event.
