Three people have escaped serious injury after a crash involving two cars and a semi-trailer near Gunnedah on Wednesday afternoon.

The crash occurred on the Oxley Highway near Carroll shortly before 3pm.
Three people were taken to Gunnedah hospital in a stable condition including an 82-year-old woman as well as a 56-year-old woman treated at the scene.

Paramedics said all three injured were able to get out of the vehicles safely.
When Australian Community Media arrived on the scene, police, ambulance, Rural Fire Service (RFS), Fire and Rescue, and SES crews were in attendance as a precaution.
In the crash a navy Hyundai Elantra had significant damage; a white utility was driven off the side of the highway; and the semi-trailer was parked further away from the scene.
Police were on scene directing traffic around the crash site, with Gunnedah Shire Council staff expected to relieve them.
Investigations into the crash are continuing.
