While Tamworth Airport only recorded 7.4mm, residents reported upward of 40mm of rain around town.

The Bureau of Meteorology recorded 15.2mm at Barraba and 13.2mm at Inverell.
The clouds weren't as friendly to other parts of the region with no rain recorded in Gunnedah and just 0.8mm at Quirindi.
Narrabri received 6mm of rain, Moree 5.8mm and Armidale 2.2mm.
The winds didn't cause too many problems in Tamworth with SES having a quiet night on the storm front.
They received just the one call which was for a couple loose tiles on a roof.
Debris did cause some disruptions on the New England Highway, though.
Storm debris fell on the highway on Thursday night at the Moonbi Ranges causing traffic to be affected in both directions, according to Live Traffic.
Speed limits were reduced to 60 kilometres per hour and were still in place on Friday morning.
The wet weather is a chance to continue over the weekend and into next week with some weather sites predicting rain in Tamworth.
According to Weatherzone, there is between 50 per cent and 60 per cent chance of 1-5mm on Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
It's still going to be hot, though.
40-plus temperatures are predicted across the weekend - as well as haze - before dipping to a high of 37 degrees on Monday.
