Birthday boy Jamie Bowden celebrated in style when he accumulated 43 stableford points to win the opening round of the Patrons (IJ Cross and John Mann) Trophy which also entitled him to a prize supplied by Lee Fletcher.

Runner-up was Mark Hogan on 41 points while the remaining sweepstake prizes went to: Crichton Barr 40; Lee Fletcher 39; Cheryl McDonald 38; Rose Baumer 38; Will Brennan 37; Ruth Fletcher, Steph Sweeney, Owen Presnell and Barry Hoad all on 36 countback from Warwick Hogan.
Sharpest Shooters at the pins were Max Holstein 3 and Cheryl McDonald 18.
Last Saturday Mark Hogan won the weekly 9 hole competition after he racked up 21 points to sneak home just in front of runner-up John Mann on 20 points.
Ladies winner was Vicki Heffernan after she notched up 21 points, runner-up was Jenny Lisle on 18 whereas the N.T.P on three went to Jack O'Hara.
This Sunday is the final round of the Patrons Trophy where Robert 'Crichton' Barr will be in charge of supplying the individual prize on the day.
Pool opens
Don't forget the pool opens this Saturday week on November 16th at 11am. Water is currently circulating in the low 20 degrees Celcius, but with warm weather predicted, it should be a bit more comfortable come opening day. Season tickets can only be purchased from the council office.
