"It's a great opportunity for girls to jump into the Greater Northern Region program," Macleod said, adding that it could be a pathway to higher honours.
Greater Northern will play in the Country Championship next year, after debuting in the championships this year.
The inaugural Greater Northern women's side was coached by Mick Schmiedel and while beaten in its first game, it won its second game against Northern Rivers in Armidale.
Group 4 had four players in the Greater Northern Tigers ladies tackle team - Joan O'Leary, Zoe Darlington, Toni Shuthorpe and Lauren Clarke.
MacLeod said the win was exciting for the players looking to continue along the women's tackle path.
He said a number of Group 4 clubs have expressed their interest in the women's tackle comp.
"All we need now is for the girls to register with their clubs so we can get started," he said.
"Kootingal, Werris Creek, South West Robins, Boggabri, Gunnedah, Narrabri and Manilla have all said they will have teams so it's up to the girls to contact their clubs."
