The 75 year old Tamworth man walked 296 km from Tamworth to Newcastle, strolling in to McDonald Jones Stadium to the sound of applause for the club's Old Boys Day clash against the Titans last Saturday.
Knights skipper Mitchell Pierce won the toss, and went on to a big win, 12 days after Mr Cashman left home.
"It was great to walk into the stadium," he said.
"I was looking forward to the game and a sit down, but I was swamped by commitments, then got talking to Blocka Roach and Danny Buderus and ended up doing a broadcast on-field interview, and the coin toss."

Mr Cashman raised money for the Men of League foundation on the 12 day trek, which included one nine hour 46 km haul from Muswellbrook to Singleton, as well as a gruelling 31 km in teeming rain from Maitland the Mayfield.
Along the way no less than 22 people stopped to offer Mr Cashman a lift, with several getting more than they bargained for as, while he didn't take the tempting lift, he did manage to talk most of them out of a few dollars for the cause.
"I got an extra $800 along the way, although we are not quite sure about the final tally just yet," he said.
"It was a real adventure - the achievement of a goal - and it was great to have been able to support the Men of League foundation, and see the Knights win."
