The 75 year old Tamworth man is hitting the road next Tuesday, to see his beloved Newcastle Knights play their final home game, on foot - a gruelling 296 km 12 day walk.
"I was born in Newcastle and have been a Knights fan since they started in 1988, and I have lived a lot of my life in Tamworth and am turning 75 - I thought it would be a good way to celebrate those three things," he said.
"I am also raising funds for the Men of League foundation - hopefully it can help some families."

The retired teacher, and sporting guru, has been training for Casho's Holy Grail Walk since Christmas, racking up almost 5000 km in preparation, including last weekend's Tamworth half marathon, and this weekend's City to Surf.
"The only worry I have is the 46 km stretch from Singleton to Muswellbrook, which has to be done in a day because there is no accomodation," he said.
"I have walked 40 km in a day a few times and it can really take it out of you, but I am very fit, and confident."
Mr Cashman is taking on the challenge completely solo, only taking a backpack and water, as "the city's most independent person."
He aims to walk into McDonald Jones Stadium before Newcastle take on the Titans for Knights Old Boys Day on August 31.
Anyone wishing to sponsor Mr Cashman can do so via the Men of League website.
