Held at the Tamworth Athletics Centre, the carnival saw around 600 students from schools across the region compete across a range of running, throwing and jumping discipline for selection in the team to represent the zone at next month's NSW CHS carnival.
Etheridge had a busy program and will have a similarly busy time in Sydney after qualifying in six events in the 16yrs girls, with the first two placegetters in each event progressing through to the state carnival, which will take place from September 4-6.
Farrer's Mitchell Henderson (16yrs) was another of the outstanding performers finishing in the first two in five of his events.
School-mates Brad Sadler (17yrs boys) and Sam Archer (12yrs boys) qualified in four events, as did Armidale Secondary Colleges' Dakota Jex (12yrs girls), Glen Innes High trio Jordan Knox (12yrs boys), Caleb Hope (14yrs boys) and Mia Baker (12yrs girls), Inverell High's Bindi Maybury-Spicer (15yrs girls) and Jessica Partridge (15yrs girls), Narrabri High's Amalie Gosper (13yrs girls) and Tenterfield High's Maddison Riley (14yrs girls).
