Thunderbolts veteran Chris Skilton, who scored seven points of his own, said Saturday's game was McGann's best of the season so far.
"It was so great to see Scotty put it all together for a great performance on Saturday night," Skilton told the Leader.
"All of his teammates know the level of basketball he is capable of and I think he is now hitting his straps and believing it himself."
Last time the two sides met, the Thunderbolts scored an 89-83 win over the Hunters, a result Skilton said the side remembered going into Saturday's clash.
"We had dominated much of the game last time we played them," he said.
"But, we took our foot off the pedal a bit and allowed them to come back into the game.
"We are a very different team than we were at the time, so we were looking to do a bit better than that this time.
"Our focus this time around was to play a full four quarters and put the foot down if we got on top, which this time around we were lucky enough to do."
The Thunderbolts will now look to finish off their home and away season with an away trip against the Central Coast Crusaders.
"We may have guaranteed ourselves top spot on the ladder, but we will be working very hard to make sure we get the win this weekend," Skilton said.
"Every week we are always looking to do the small things right.
"I think we are just hitting our straps as a team now and we will be looking to put in another four-quarter effort this weekend."
Also on Saturday night, the Thunderbolts women's team finished their regular season on a winning note, defeating the Camden Valley Wildfire 94-43 away from home.
