Mr Garment made his 365th blood donation in Tamworth this week and he said giving requires little sweat or tears and encouraged others to take the plunge.
"Give it a try," he said.

"You don't have to look, it doesn't hurt and it doesn't take that much out of your routine."
Mr Garment was praised by local Red Cross workers, but they said he can't do it alone.
"Australia needs a new blood donor every five minutes," spokesperson Janine Dietrich said.
"We need more people like Roger to make blood or plasma donation a regular, life-saving habit.
"It takes just an hour of your time to donate blood and every donation can help save up to three lives."
