Gabby Hathway and Ruby Pascoe struck in the first half, Millie Kearney pushing their advantage to three midway through the second half.
Standing in for regular coach Andrew Farmilo, Littlejohns said they played really well across the park.
"I think we ran the legs off the opposition," he said.
"We got to the ball first and were a bit more hungry."
He was particularly impressed with their work off the ball and their short, sharp passing game.
Down 2-nil, Littlejohns said Souths tried to play a bit more of an aggressive game in the second half and were a bit more threatening.

"They pushed Tayla King up front, that gave them a bit more potency," he said.
"But we countered that well, we just got numbers around the ball when they needed to."
Issy Bramley and Ella Mitchell were pivotal to that. Bramley had a great game at fullback, he said, while Mitchell was "really composed at the back for a young girl".
Pascoe and Kearney also had strong games stepping up from second grade, while Kate Reynolds was strong in the middle and Flo Davidson and Holly Littlejohns worked hard as inside forwards.
