Don’t get me wrong, it’s great for the town and a great time, but it’s like we haven’t had the chance to sit down and relax since before Christmas and now, finally, we can.
With State and Federal elections looming though, I am really not sure how much of a rest will be granted.
Another candidate entered the race for the seat of Tamworth during the week, bringing the total to five.
Emma Hall founded the local branch of the Animal Justice Party, and says she just wants to give the animals a voice.
Meantime, there was some interesting analysis of the situation surrounding Barnaby Joyce in the Federal seat.
Where researchers from James Cook University are of the opinion that every time there’s an attack on Barnaby Joyce from outside the seat – we, the voters take it quite personally – which explains, they say, why we are so unwilling to vote him out.
Well I guess on that one we will have to wait and see.
Quirindi locals farewelled a retail stalwart during the week.
It was the end of an era for Reilly’s; the three generation institution closed its doors for the final time on Friday.
We’d like to take this opportunity to wish John and Lorraine a happy retirement – after that well-earned holiday of course.
And the old Fitzroy Street chestnut simply refuses to melt into the sun.
The lack of shade in the new mall area raised its head again after a stifling festival.
Festival organisers are now keen for some feedback on how it all went.
And they’re right when they say the knockers and naysayers aren’t helping. If you have something to say at least make it constructive.
