The ACT/NSW Country side featuring Tamworth standouts Jessica Davidson and Lara Graham lost their second final at the under-18 nationals, after NSW Metro beat them by 60 runs in the 50-over final at Ballarat on Thursday.

The loss followed Queensland’s defeat of ACT/NSW Country in the Twenty20 final last week.
In the one-day final, Davidson continued her good form with the ball – taking 2-12 off seven overs, as NSW Metro finished on 9-196 after being put into bat at Eastern Oval. All up, the quick took 12 wickets in 12 matches, at 9.5 apiece and with a best of 3-2.
Batting at No.5 in the final, Davidson made nine off 20 balls, while No.6 Graham made six off 10 balls, as ACT/NSW Country were dismissed for 136 in the 38th over. Davidson made 132 runs in 10 innings, with a highest score of 35 and an average of 18.9.

In six innings, Graham scored 58 runs, with a highest score of 30 and an average of 9.7. She bowled 17 overs at the carnival, taking nine wickets at an average of 9.2 and with a best of 3-14.
In the one-day final, ACT/NSW Country removed NSW Metro’s openers cheaply, and were 4-57. But then No.4 Hannah Darlington (51) and No.6 Angelina Genford (45) combined for a 69-run partnership, before Genford and No.7 Dharmini Chauhan (32) produced a 44-run partnership, to give NSW Metro a decent total to defend.
No.3 Anika Learoyd (54) and opener Alisha Bates (16) were the only ACT/NSW Country players to get into double figures.
