
LAKE Keepit Soaring Club is preparing to host some of the world’s best competitors during the National Club and Sports Class Championships.
Held from December 31 to January 11, the annual event will see more than 40 pilots from all over Australia, Germany and the United States battle it out.
Both male and female pilots will carry out tasks of up to 600 kilometres across the two week competition.

The event will also be an opportunity for female pilots to put their best foot forward ahead of next year’s Women’s World Gliding Championships.
The championships will also be held at Lake Keepit in December 2019 and will feature some of the sport’s best female competitors.
Members of the public are encouraged to get along to the event with the competition launching each day between 11am and 1pm (weather permitting).
Following the championships the club will look to a packed summer schedule of events.
First up will be the annual Australia Day Mini-GP on January 26 followed by the Keepit Regatta during the last week of February.
