In his eighth year of joining the mo-bros the Country Auto salesman proudly grew a handlebar to help raise funds and awareness for men’s health, before lopping off half to remember the fallen.

The Half Mast Mo is a relatively new concept, and sees “the ultimate symmetry sacrifice to honour the mates, brothers, fathers and sons who should still be here with us today.”

For Mr Gower it was about remembering a friend who was taken too soon by cancer, but also to continue raising awareness around Australia’s damning suicide statistics in young men.

“I had become quite attached to the mo, and generally like to keep it for a week or two of December, but this is about solidarity and remembering those guys that have passed away.”
