The John Paul Vella Memorial Pairs tournament saw 28 teams turn out to play.
“That’s all we can handle,” West Tamworth Sports & Bowling Club’s Bob Hennessy said.
The tournament kicked off at 9am and finished at 4.30pm as each team played three games each with $2000 in prizemoney up for grabs.
By the end of the day, the top prize went to Roxy McKinnon and Les Goodchild who beat out the second placed pair of Tony Edmunds and Bryon Cullen.
Rounding out the placings was Lyn Evans and Graham Choice
Hennessy said a great day was had by all – for the most part.
“There was some very tight games and some very loose games. Most of them enjoyable...except when you got beat,” Hennessy said.
“The day went beautifully and lunch was spectacular as always.”
This was the sixth time the event has been held.
