WITH SPRING well and truly in the air, Victoria Park was abuzz on Sunday with a hive of activity taking over the Tamworth recreation area.
The park has a range of groups putting the area to use and they came together on a toasty 26 degree September day to host a “family fun day” showing what’s on offer.
It was on for young and old with plenty of kids rolling up for the fun in the sun.
The Friends of the Garden shared their knowledge on what native plants thrive in local yards.
The group also showed off progress in the newest section of the garden which is close to completion.
The model engineers of Tamworth also pulled their weight firing-up the miniature trains for the second straight week.
Meanwhile, the Tamworth astronomy club made a rare day-time appearance spruiking the stories and sights of the night skies which can be accessed from the botanical gardens.
While the Sunday strollers got a sun soaking, temperatures will dip back in to the low-20s early in the week, by Friday, thermometers are tipped to touch 29 degrees.
