
As the strawberry contamination scare continues, people have taken to social media to share strawberry recipes and it has prompted a trending hashtag, #SmashaStrawb.
Needles have been found in strawberries right across the country and tonnes of the fruit has been discarded or pulled off shelves at supermarkets.

Video of tonnes of strawberries being dumped due to the contamination scare has prompted many people to come out in support of farmers and continue buying the fruit.
Social media has since lit up with people sharing their favourite strawberry recipes – from cakes to cocktails, salads and of course strawberries in champagne.
Meanwhile, Agriculture Minister David Littleproud says the “parasites” responsible for spiking strawberries should “swing for this” and do hard time.
The government is rushing legislation through parliament to ratchet up the maximum penalties for so-called “food terrorists” from 10 to 15 years behind bars.
