After participating in a number of selection races last season, Frost was chosen from her high point scores.
She competed in qualifying races at Robina, Coffs Harbour, Mooloolaba and Woolongong.
“Because the championships are being held in Australia, everybody wanted to have a go so it was pretty hard to get in but it was good fun,” she said.
Held on the Gold Coast, more than 80 teams will enter the championships with athletes from across the world flying in to compete.
Frost said she was relieved to have been selected for the Australian team after battling with a number of injuries during qualifiers.
“The goal was to get selected and once the selection came through, the goal was to get the body back in some sort of shape to compete properly again,” she said.
In April I didn’t think this would be possible so I am just grateful for the opportunity.

The last four months has been “like walking on eggs shells” for the local triathlete after being diagnosed with spondyloarthritis.
Medication has assisted, however Frost admitted she “can’t do what I used to” and therefore her training regime has changed.
“Virtually there is not much running but I’m still swimming and riding okay,” she said.
Frost will complete the Olympic distance event, a 1.5km swim, 40km ride and 10km run, on September 16 with friends and family cheering her on.
“There’s no goal for me this time, I am just happy to be able to race. In April I didn’t think this would be possible so I am just grateful for the opportunity to race up there in front of family and friends.
“I’m really looking forward to it. I don’t usually get to race in front of anyone but my husband, so it’ll be good to have a cheer squad,” she said.
Frost completed her first triathlon 25-odd years ago when she participated in the Tingha Tin Man.
“I caught the triathlon bug then. On and off over the years I did a few competitions and got really keen about eight years ago and started doing longer stuff,” she said.
She then set a goal to complete an Ironman event and hasn’t looked back since. Frost said she has ticked off all the triathlon events she’s wanted to do over the years.
“Now it’s all about being grateful for what my body can do and do everything possible to keep it going,” she said.
Frost has competed in a number of Ironman events, as well as Goondiwindi’s Hell of the West and was selected for the Australian Duathlon team for the World Championships in Adelaide back in 2015.
