MORE than 240 people toughed it out through “freezing cold” to take part in the Keepit Kommando run on the weekend.
It was the third time the Lake Keepit sport and recreation park hosted the event and it drew its biggest turn-out to date.
Participation almost doubled from last year’s event, which only commanded 130 people.
Centre manager Heath Roods put it down to a solid social media campaign, but he said some changes could be on the way for next year’s running.
“We might have it a bit later next year,” Mr Roods said.
This year, the Kommando event took place two days after the traditional Winter Warrior contest.
Mr Roods said the Keepit Kommndo might be run later in the year, which could see the event grow even further.
