From 10am to 2pm at the Tamworth TAFE library, people can test out the autonomous self-driving robot, code their own robot and even create their own items using a 3D printer.

There will also be a virtual reality demonstrations that will allow users to become fully-immersed in a virtual world using hand-held controls.

TAFE NSW information technology head teacher Jackie Sheehan said the IT field was about more than just using and repairing computers.

“Logical thinking and troubleshooting skills are essential in many job roles, and coding robotics allows these skills to be learnt in a fun, practical way,”  she said.

“New technologies are appearing all the time and it is important that our courses incorporate them where ever possible.”

“This demonstration is a great opportunity to showcase to the public the type of things that they could learn by enrolling in a TAFE NSW Information Technology course.”
