“We will highlight the employment and career opportunities that are available with Teys Australia and more specifically at our Tamworth facility,” Teys industry and corporate affairs manager John Langbridge said.
“There are opportunities ranging from labouring, traineeships, apprenticeships, all the way to graduate programs.”
Teys Australia has been operating at its current site in Tamworth for 20 years in October.
The company has planned a community fun day on October 13 to help celebrate the milestone.
“We will use that fun day to raise funds to assist drought affected farmers,” Mr Langbridge said.
“Apart from fund raising and directly donating Teys will be approaching its non-producer suppliers to seek their assistance in the fund raising efforts.”
The company was created by the merger of Teys Brothers and Cargills. It employs almost 560 full time workers at its Tamworth facility.
Across all of its sites – which includes five other processing plants, two value adding plants and three feedlots – Teys employs almost 4500 people.
Teys produces more than 9000 different meat and meat products lines, including heat-and-eat meals.
Teys Tamworth processes cattle exclusively for Woolworths.
“The Tamworth community is a great place work and live, offers our staff all the opportunities and services of a large city with that great country feel,” Mr Langbridge said.
Since it began in 1973, Commonwealth Bank AgQuip has grown with the support of agribusinesses and industry organisations that value the importance of the event in reaching out to the farming community.
As usual, AgQuip again provides both buyers and sellers of services and equipment with assistance and ideas to survive and prosper under such harsh conditions.
Commonwealth Bank AgQuip will be held at its purpose-built 32-hectare site off the Oxley Highway to the west of Gunnedah.
It runs over Tuesday to Thursday, August 21 to 23.
There are no entrance or parking fees for visitors.
