Tamworth Regional Art Collective artist Joanne Stead designed and created the mural alongside other local artists.
"We’ve tried to reflect some of the activities they’re interested in and some cultural heritage, references to Aboriginal culture,” she said.
“It’s a source of pride to walk out the back of The Youthie here and I know they had a hand in creating some of this – it’s a really exciting space.”
The mosaic includes a sand goanna and emu, the traditional totum for this area.
The mural is funded by a $43,000 state government Social Housing Community Improvement Fund grant, that also paid for a number of other improvements to the youth centre.

Youthie operations manager Heather Lynn said everyone over the age of 12 should head down to have a look.
“We want to make it feel more like home and less like a government building,” she said.
”We try to have a variety of programs for every need here, and if people have a particular program they want to run we’re quite excited to be able to do that.”
The mural took about two months to make.
