Two Tamworth BMX Club members travelled to Frankston last weekend to compete in round two of the 2018 BMXA National Series.
Jack Davis competed in the 16 boys and raced strong all day to qualify for the final.
However, after getting shut out in the final, Davis finished eighth in what was a strong field.
Zac Whalan continued the form that has seen him in a real purple patch since the Australian Titles in Western Australia a month ago.
After he won his age at MacArthur BMX club last week, he backed up at Frankston and took out the win in the 11 boys.
Zac not only set the fastest time for his age in the final but he also beat the 6A and 1A plate holders.
The Tamworth BMX Club said: “It is great to see the hard work that this youngster continues to put in is reaping just rewards and, as his age group is known for being one of the toughest of the groups coming through at the moment with quite a few riders being of world class, Zac is right up there with the best of them.
“Congratulations to the boys for their efforts but for now it is back to training at the local track and getting ready for the next meet.”
