Armidale Archers held their annual general meeting and, after being at the helm for 35 years, Dennis Carson has stepped down as president. The new president is Yan Laurensen.
Carson believed the time was right for a change. For the club to continue to grow it is important there are new ideas and new blood. He will continue in his role as club coach.
At the meeting, Carson detailed the club’s successes in 2017, including the sealing of the road and the completion of the toilet facilities at the club and the staging of the State Field Championships in Armidale.
Matt Walcott was elected vice president, Dan Alter, treasurer and Margaret Carson secretary.
The club will stage come-and-try days on February 25, March 4 and 11. Anyone interested can contact Carson or Margaret Carson on 67721029 or 0412620102 for further information.
The club plans to hold more ranking rounds so members will be able to obtain ratings and a national ranking.
There will also be a round of the State Grand Prix in May.
Carson will take two club members to the National Junior Championships in April.
