The 19-year-old was trapped in the Toyota Hilux after it crashed on Moore Creek Road at the intersection of Davidsons Lane about 5am.
RFS crews and paramedics freed the teen who was pinned by his legs, and he was taken to Tamworth hospital suffering lacerations to his head and arms, concussion as well as a suspected fractured leg.
Police said the man appeared to lose control on a bend before running off the road and hitting a tree but the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
Meanwhile, a bushwalker has been stretchered out of the forest near Horton Falls after falling on Wednesday afternoon.
Paramedics and SES crews from Barraba had to walk several kilometres in to the Horton Falls National Park to rescue the 71-year-old woman after she fell and suffered a suspected broken ankle.
It’s understood a fellow walker had to travel 10km to get phone service to raise the alarm about 1.30pm before emergency services were alerted to the accident off Horton Falls Road at Lindesay.
Paramedics alerted SES who deployed crews to help with the rescue effort, which was off a walking trail in bushland.
The woman was carried out on a stretcher and taken to Barraba hospital in a stable condition.
