The students also got the chance to act as a Super Hornet Air Combat Officer and Joint Battlefield Airspace Controller, complete with virtual reality sets.
The simulator is on a four week tour of regional NSW and the ACT, with Flying Officer Daniel Fisher saying that the tour is all about sparking students interest in high level maths and science subjects leading to aviation.
“The simulator can do everything the jet can do, barrel rolls, loops, and even engaging targets, both aier to air and ground targets” Mr Fisher said.
“The kids can be a bit apprehensive at first, but they always surprise themselves and they always love it.”
