Gary the goat comes to Tamworth

The comedy duo drew a crowd on Peel St, as the pair tried their hand at busking.

“Peel Street, Tamworth – what better place to busk?” Jim said before busting into a cover of Cold Chisel’s Cheap Wine (and a three-legged goat) on a one-string guitar made from a balloon.

The pair also tried to do some “reverse busking”, giving back the money they made to people passing by.

“No one wanted to take it,” Jim said.

“They’re were happy to give it away, but I didn’t get many takers.”

While Jim was the more talkative of the pair, Gary was quite content to pose for photos outside the Westpac bank.

“Gary doesn’t walk much these days, because he's got a sore hoof,” Jim said.

“He had an operation last year so he's got a bit of a hobble.”

Gary and Jim, who have more that 1.7 million likes on Facebook, are in town for a comedy gig at the Locomotive Hotel on Friday, at 8pm.
