Harvey's Bar will be open for business for two nights only at the West Tamworth Leagues Club.
The Harvey's Bar shows follow on from the success of the 2015 album with the same title.
Harvey says his shows are a lot of fun, with a lot of improvisation and his signature deep country tones.
"We'd love people to come along and see the show," he said.
"I can guarantee a lot of fun, a few good laughs and to watch us stage, we'll also be playing requests."
And when talks about some requests, Harvey says he's been thrown some hairy ones from the audience, including a rendition of Kasey Chambers' Not Pretty Enough.
"It wasn't very pretty," he said. "People love to get out to the show, it's a form of escapism.
"There is so much doom and gloom in the world, and people have so many problems and worries in their lives so they let their hair down and forget their cares and drama for a few hours.
"That's the idea of it - I started my own little bar at home and ended up recording an album out of it.
"We built a replica bar that looks exactly like mine, so when people come to the show, it looks like they're coming to my bar at home and we have a little jam and a singalong."
One of the highlights of Harvey's shows is the on-stage inclusion of his daughter Leylah.
The Festival show will kick off a big year for Harvey, who's been working on new material with his good mate, fellow country star, Beccy Cole.
"I've been busy recording the album at the moment, it's been coming along really well. There have been some classic country duets with Bec.
"She's my favourite person in Australian country music. She's just incredible and you've got to be match-fit to try and keep up with her."
Harvey is a finalist in the 45th Toyota Golden Guitar Awards in the category of Vocal Collaboration of the Year, nominated for his song “Bartender Blues” recorded with Lyn Bowtell.
You can catch Harvey's Bar Backyard Sessions at Blazes Auditorium at Wests' Leagues Club on Saturday, January 21 from 8.30pm and Friday, January 27 from 5pm.
