Resident raised the alarm just after 5pm on Tuesday afternoon, when they noticed smoke rising from the roof of the club.
At least six fire crews from the Rural Fire Service and NSW Fire and Rescue rushed to the scene, but the building was fully engulfed in flames.
Fire officials have told The Leader the flames were so intense, they were unable to access the building to undertake a primary search, but it is understood no one was inside at the time of the blaze.
Crews battled desperately to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading.
Fire officials remained at the site for much of Tuesday night, as flare ups threatened to fan the fire again, however the fire was fully extinguished by Wednesday morning.
Detectives from the Hunter Valley Local Area Command arrived at the scene on Wednesday to assess the damage and the origin of the blaze.
Investigators said inquiries were still continuing.
