Tamworth Regional Council (TRC) recently joined the NSW-wide “scores on doors” program in an attempt to lift local standards and reduce “incidents of food-borne illness”.
25 local food retailers received an “excellent” five-star health rating, while a further 20 hit a “very good” four-star benchmark.
Council ‘s manager of regulatory services Ross Briggs the list will be updated each month.
“Council’s health officers have an ongoing program of inspecting all food business in the region to ensure they continue to meet hygiene and food safety standards,” Mr Briggs said.
