The Liverpool Plains Shire Council (LPSC) is already listed in the top 10 areas for Recreational Vehicle (RV) users and a new area in Willow Tree was opened at a gala ceremony on Friday, housing toilets, showers and is also pet friendly too.
The site is just one of many freedom camping areas across the Liverpool Plains Shire with Wallabadah, Premer and Currububula also boasting spots for caravans. And some nights attract up to 20 vehicles.
“The new Willow Tree facility is another step in implementing Council’s Recreational Vehicle (RV) Strategy which aims to cater for the steadily growing tourism potential of self-contained recreational vehicles, caravans/motorhomes as well as the camping market,” LPSC councillor Doug Hawkins said.
“This market is an increasingly important contributor to the LPSC economy.”
