The recent Walcha Mountain Festival featured a Quilt Show with over 100 quilts on exhibit. The show ran over both days of the festival in the woolshed of the property Langford which is known as Villa Wolka – the name of the original homestead that stood on the Wolka run holding in 1832.

Now in its second year, the Quilt Exhibition kicked off with drinks at a special twilight opening on the Friday night before the festival.
Organiser Leanne Natty said they were expecting 30 to attend the opening and were pleasantly surprised with the turnout.
“It was more than we anticipated and we are grateful to the community for their support,” she said.
“We were also very pleased with the number of contributions we received, all of which were either locally made or sourced through local connections. One of the first visitors to the exhibition on Saturday morning said she regularly goes to quilt shows and she was surprised at the extensive display we had.”
Mrs Natty said plans were already underway for next year’s exhibition.
