There over 70 children living in Tamworth with type one diabetes, a disease which can’t be prevented and currently has no cure.
13-year-old Cameron Blundell lives with the illness and was looking forward to the fundraising walk.
“I think it's good because we can raise money to see if we can find a cure for type one diabetes,” he said.
Tamworth mother of six and event organiser Julie Rodda’s eight-year-old son Sterling is type one diabteic.
“The most important thing for me to see what a buzz the kids get out of seeing so many people supporting them,” Mrs Rodda said.
The event kicks off at 10am on Sunday at the stage-area at Bicentennial Park.
