It’s hard to believe it’s been 12-years since he wowed the nation on Australian Idol and six years on from the release of his last album, Noll is back with a new sound and attitude.
The country icon has been busy writing ahead of the release of his new album next year, but on Friday fans were given a taste of what to expect with the official release of his new single Who I Am .
Fans are able to see a new side of Noll’s personality, a ‘take me as i am’ approach after signing to Warner music and a new management team.
The Aussie icon says he’s happy where things are heading and hopes his fans feel the same way.
“All the signs have been really good so far, it’s always a pretty scary time releasing new material, especially after the break I’ve had,” he said.
“I really enjoy the song and I’m really proud of it, I hope it connects with the fan base and they take it on board.”
The film clip for Noll’s new single will be shot at the Deni Ute Muster where he was excited to perform.
With a new record label under his belt, the singer songwriter was encouraged to be himself with his new material.
"When I signed the new deal with Warner they said they wanted me to be myself and write about who I am,” he said.
“I think there’s a lot of lyrics on this album where I draw on where I grew up and things close to my heart, I really got back to myself.
“It’s been six years since my last album, I had a fair bit of trouble with labels and management but I am really stoked with my team, my management team a great, I’ve got a great label and of course a great fan base.”
The Leader couldn’t end the interview without asking the Aussie legend if he’ll be back next year to his old stomping ground – The Tamworth Country Music Festival.
“I think we are again this year, It’ll be great,” he said.
“We’ll have the single out and another one on radio at that stage so it’ll be a great follow up, It’s always great to have material in the market place to perform and put into the set.
“I'm really looking forward to playing something there, I appreciate the support over the years and hope to do the fans proud in the next phase of my career.”
