Thirteen year old Luxford will share the bill with James Cameron, Tahnee Conroy, Luke Oppenheimer, Jamaica Sparks, Shane Teinaki and Bre Webel so it will be a night of great local music.
Miss Luxford’s most recent achievement s includes winning the Australian High Country Talent Search, placing as the Runner Up at the CCMA National Talent Quest in the Juvenile Section, a Grand Finalist at the Mt Franklin Talent Quest in the Senior Section and combining with Belle Smith to win Australian Celtic Festival Busking Competition.
Since 2014 Luxford has performed at showcase events for CCMA and the Tamworth Songwriters Association (TSA) at both TCMF and Hats off to Country Tamworth and she has performed at the Stanthorpe Snowflakes Festival and will play at this year’s Stanthorpe Rocks festival.
Kathryn said she has been writing and performing her own songs since she was ten years old.
“I enjoy writing and playing my own songs as well as those of others,” she said.
“My favourite track on the new CD is called ‘Call Home’ which is about the ANZACs.
“They did so much for us and continue to do so much for our country and I felt the need to write a song for the hard work that they committed to, I am hoping that message is shown through this song.”
Miss Luxford said her musical inspirations sometimes show themselves in the music she plays.
“I like artists like Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran and I like how they write relatable and emotional songs,” she said.
“I’ve always looked up to them and I hope that one day I’ll be able to write as well as them.
“I hope to play sold out shows around the world, I have my eye on the future, the CD launch show will have lots of good music, and it should be a great night.”
