The city is in hot competition with Armidale and other areas of NSW with the Tamworth MP pushing the case to Minister for Skills and Regional Development John Barilaro last week. The local member said the proposal was put forward by Tamworth Regional Council.
“There is no doubt that Tamworth is recognised as one of the primary regional centres in NSW with continued growth which makes it an ideal location for the new headquarters,” he said.
“It is estimated that the new digital headquarters will have approximately 60 employees which is not only a welcome boost for our local economy but also an opportunity to grow the number of people already choosing to make the move to Tamworth and experience one of the greatest regional cities in NSW.”
Mr Anderson said the meeting was extremely positive and he will continue to put forward the case on behalf of the Tamworth community.
