Savvy Birds aims to empower and connect women, whether they’re working, running their own business, employed locally or even stay-at-home mums.
Tamworth locals Michelle Morgan and Dimity Smith are the driving force behind Savvy Birds, which was launched at a gala night in Tamworth to a sell out crowd of 200 women.
The launch heard success stories, and challenges faced everyday during a question and answer forum with Tamworth businesswomen, Robbie Sefton and Susie Slack-Smith, including whether working women can have it all.
Presenters Those Two Girls, Sarah Wills and Lise Carlaw from Brisbane, were the special guests at the launch, and shared some of their “learnings” in life, including having the power to say no, being confident and outsourcing weaknesses, as well as the buzz word for women, ‘balance’.
Both are mothers to young children and working to build their presenting business, and Ms Wills said there was no such thing for her “as constant balance, you find balance along the way.”
Ms Carlaw openly admitted to the crowd there are times when they’re both “super stressed” and struggle to juggle.
“Women talk about balance, we think it’s another word to make mothers feel inadequate in life,” she said.
