The teenager appeared in Tamworth Children’s Court yesterday facing eight break-in, carried in a stolen car and drugs offences after he was arrested by police in Tamworth on Thursday.
The charges follow investigations into vehicles stolen in Gunnedah in December, Macgregor St, Tamworth, earlier in January, as well as a Mazda stolen from a Yarraga Pl, Hillvue home on Wednesday night.
Police allege all three vehicles were sighted by police and engaged in high-speed chases before officers terminated the pursuits for safety reasons.
The boy has pleaded guilty to three counts of being carried in a stolen vehicle and one count of possessing a small quantity of cannabis.
He was not required to enter pleas to two charges of aggravated break-and-enter in company after offenders forced their way into a Yarraga Pl home through the garage and stole goods including the vehicle.
Following investigations, officers from the Tamworth Target Action Group went to a Green St home about 2.45pm on Thursday and spotted the accused through a window.
The boy, who was wanted for a revocation of parole warrant, was arrested hiding in the bedroom.
He made no application for bail during yesterday’s court proceedings and it was formally refused by Magistrate Roger Prowse.
The case has been adjourned to later this month.
Two other co-accused remain before the court.
