The TDCA has organised a trivia night at Ian Southwell Cricket House this evening and while the response from the clubs has been less than inspiring TDCA president Richard Bullock is hoping to “throw the gates open” to the community.
“We’ve been a little underwhelmed by the response from the clubs,” Bullock admitted.
“But we do have some prizes, have David Warner, Peter Siddle and Michael Hussey-signed bats, some Sydney 6s vouchers and a heap of other stuff.
“We are only putting this on to benefit the clubs. We’ve had to throw open the gates to the public. Still have a few tables left so if there is anyone interested in coming there are seats still available.”
The trivia night leads into this weekend’s Bash For Cash tournament at Riverside.
The TDCA has structured a Division 1 (First and second grade), and Division 2 (third and fourth grade) with all six clubs represented in the Division 2 and five of the six clubs represented in Division 1.
All bar City United have entered teams in the Division 1.
“It should be a good weekend,” Bullock said.
“We’re playing the Division 1 at Riverside 2 and the Division 2 at Minor League. ‘Teams are eight -a-side with everyone bowling one over bar the keeper. “We’re bringing the boundaries in a bit too.”
The TDCA has two $500 Kookaburra bats to give to the players hitting the most sixes in both divisions.
