Another great community event is expected and breakfast will be served from 7am.
Organisers say it is a wonderful opportunity to join with family and friends for a great start to a special day.
There will be entertainment from 8am before the main festivities commence at 8.45am with the flag raising, followed by the official program: National anthem; prayer for our nation; welcome to guests by our mayor Janelle Archdale; and a thank you - Australia Day Committee chairman Don Murchie.
After the Australia Day address by our ambassador, prizes will be given out for Walcha’s oldest citizen, senior and junior sportsperson, community organisation and junior and senior citizen of the year.
This year Walcha’s Australia Day Ambassador is world champion motorcycle rider Warwick Nowland.
We will publish more about Warwick next week.
