Tamworth Truck Drivers Memorial hosted its annual sombre and moving service to remember those whose names appear on the sacred spot.
Tamworth Truck Drivers Club president Chris Rindfleisch said the service went “really well” with the guest speakers a highlight.
Club life member Greg Davis gave a history of the organisation and its place in the community, while Brian Sheedy from Tamworth Regional Council spoke about the park.
“Brian said the park was a credit to the club, council was proud to be associated with it and it was a great thing for the town,” Mr Rindfleisch said.
“Jim Savage from Tamworth and Stockmaster Transport, gave a fantastic speech and spoke from the heart because he has a lot of mates on the memorial.”
Mr Rindfleisch said the organisers had a lot of positive feedback about how well the service went.
“It was just a beautiful service and a credit to the club and how they put it together for the day,” he said.
The service attracted about 370 people from the region and beyond, as family members gathered to pay tribute to their lost loved ones.
Six more names were inducted onto the memorial as part of the service.
