Colts and Bandits are the 2014 Walcha Basketball champions after they defeated Hawks and Pacifica in their respective grand finals at the Multi Purpose Centre last Friday night.

A game high - 31 points by Harley Cox - paved the way to victory for the Colts who had opened up a 23-16 half time lead. Team mates Chris Davies and Josh Mackaway chipped in with six points each, while Jesse Lordanic and Joel MaCabe contributed four points each. For the runners-up, Jonathon Cross led the way with 19 points receiving assistance form Lee Harrison 8, Dave Barillaro 7, Daniel Harrison 6 and Brody Smith 4 while Thomas Boyd missed out on scoring.
Bandits proved too strong for Pacifica to the tune of 37-20 after holding a 15-9 lead at the break. Top scorer for the premiers was Amanda Scott on 15 points followed by Kimberley Laurie 10, Phillipa Lawrence 8, Carly Wood and Sandra Laurie both 2. The Bandits did well to play the grand final without a substitute. For Pacifica Apii Fontanella hit 12 points, Cindy Swanton 4, Mainie Watts and Tai Tai Watts 2 each while Leonie Wall, Jayde Eather and Tungi Viti were also members of the runners-up squad.
