Police are investigating a home invasion in Tamworth last night where a man and woman were threatened.

About 10.30pm, a 24-year-old woman and a 27-year-old man were at a home on Belmore Street when they heard a noise outside their bedroom door.
Police have been told when the woman went to the bedroom door, she was approached by a man armed with a knife who demanded money.
The woman attempted to close the bedroom door, and the man fled the scene, taking knives and a knife holder from the home.
The couple was not injured during the incident; however significant damage was caused to the bedroom door.
Officers attached to Oxley Local Area Command were called and established a crime scene.
As they continue to investigate the incident, they are appealing for any witnesses or anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area around the time of the incident to come forward.
The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance and about 25-30 years old.
