EMERGENCY services rushed to Werris Creek yesterday morning after reports a light plane had crashed.
Police received a call from at least one resident of a property to say she had seen something on fire in the sky and then travel towards the ground, followed by two bangs. NSW Rural Fire Service, police and ambulance rushed to an area off The Gap Rd behind the Werris Creek Golf Club, with a search led by two Westpac Rescue Helicopters. After a thorough search, though, no trace of the aircraft was found and no aircraft were reported missing.
Accident near Oxley Lookout
A MAN was injured yesterday afternoon in an accident on White St, Tamworth, near the Oxley Lookout. A NSW Ambulance Media spokeswoman said a 26-year-old man was treated on the scene and police said he was taken to Tamworth hospital after the three-wheeled trike slider he was riding collided with a motorcycle. The man was in a stable condition yesterday. The motorcyclist was not injured.
Truck crashes into tree
A TRUCK driver was taken to Walcha hospital after the truck he was driving crashed into a tree on the Oxley Highway 70km east of Walcha near Gingers Creek at 12.15pm yesterday. NSW Ambulance and police attended the scene and he was taken to hospital in a stable condition.
Motorcyclist loses control
A MOTORCYCLIST was taken to hospital with a collarbone injury after an accident near Ebor yesterday at 10.30am. Police said the 40-year-old male rider lost control of his bike on the intersection of Grafton Rd and Waterfall Way. He was taken to Armidale hospital.
