And at the Milestones Childcare Centre in Tamworth it has become part of weekly babycare sessions. The children tested their strength as they performed basic stretches that got everyone involved, centre manager Jodie Harpur said, at the introductory lessons last week.
“We decided to do yoga to introduce the babies to physical activity,” Ms Harpur said.
With the nursery including children from as young as six weeks up to two years, she said yoga suited “all ages and stages of development”. The class was part of Australian Childcare Week, but the children will continue to practise their downward dogs in future baby yoga sessions.
