About 16 people from Nundle and Tamworth took a bus to Gunnedah to tour some of the successful Landcare projects over there.
“They’ve done some great projects in Gunne- dah,” regional Landcare facilitator (Namoi East) Mark Kesby said.
“When you have success it attracts more dollars: organisations have more confidence that you can actually do it.
“Chair of Tamworth Regional Landcare Paul Moxon was interested in the gross-pollutant traps and the riparian planting.”
Tour highlights included Mullibah Lagoon, Mullibah constructed wetland, Cushens and Porcupine Reserves, Pensioners Hill and the Namoi riverbank, as well as large-scale tree planting.
Mr Kesby said another trip was on the cards, if funding was available.
“We might take the Tamworth people up to Armidale or somewhere.”
